The Duchesne County History Center is a small repository of local historical documents focused on Duchesne County. The collections include:

• A digital database of various county cemeteries and plots.
• Digital images of headstones, death certificates, and obituaries.
• Published community and family histories and scrapbooks.
• Preservation and digitization of historical photographs.
• Local newspapers and some historical county items.

The public is welcomed and encouraged to view these various items at the History Center or online if available. Items in the History Center collection are not available for checkout.

The History Center does not preserve artifacts as a museum would due to its limited space capacity. Its purpose is historical documents only.

Various History Center projects have been accomplished through the great efforts of the Americorps Seniors Volunteers Service Program through the Uintah Basin Association of Governments over the course of many years. The library expresses deep appreciation to those volunteers who have made these databases and collections possible.

Digitized Historical Photos

Duchesne County History Center is actively posting digital copies of historical photos on its Facebook page. Many of these photos have unidentified people, locations, time periods, and more. Commenters are contributing a lot of information about the posted photos. To view the photos and contribute to their identification go to the Facebook page:

Digital Cemetery Database

To view digitized Duchesne County cemetery plot maps, headstone photos, and specific information (dates, names, photos, obituary, etc.) about an interred individual, please click on the database link in the image below and search for cemeteries by name or search a plot by the person's name. Please note, this database is for historical research only, gathered by the effort of volunteers. It is NOT an official record of plot ownership. Please contact the boards for each cemetery for such records.
